AML/CTF software for Australian tax agents
Separate routine tax work from designated services, then manage CDD, beneficial ownership, AUSTRAC reporting, training and AML/CTF program evidence in one tax-practice workspace.
Five situations, in plain words
Illustrations of questions tax agents meet. Not customers, and not a decision for your file.
A tax return on its own is usually not covered. Write that down on the file.
Setting up a company for a client often is covered. Check who owns it before you start.
Money sitting in your trust account needs a check: are you holding it for a deal?
Helping a client sell their business means checking the parties and who benefits.
Offering a registered office can be covered. Decide that before you take the work.
Work that can be covered
- Company and trust formation
- Restructures and shelf-company transfers
- Client money or property for a transaction
- Business or real-estate sale assistance
- Registered-office and nominee services
What to keep on the file
- TPB and ABR practice details
- Entity and beneficial-ownership records
- Scope reasoning and rule references
- CDD approvals and evidence
- Program versions, training and review history

Questions tax agents ask
Are all tax agents regulated by AUSTRAC?
No. It depends on whether the business provides a designated service with the required Australian link, not on the professional title. Assess each service and take advice where the boundary is uncertain.
What should tax agents keep for an AML/CTF review?
The scope decision, customer and beneficial-owner evidence, the risk assessment, screening and escalation decisions, approvals, reporting records, training and the current AML/CTF program.
Does Cassandra AML replace legal advice?
No. It organises compliance work and evidence. It does not give legal advice, guarantee compliance or imply AUSTRAC endorsement.
